Government takes up Mercy Aigbe's case. State vs Gentry!! Commisioner says

For weeks now, the news of this celebrity couple has been on air with either Mercy Aigbe acting and Lanre Gentry counter acting, or Lanre Gentry acting while Mercy counteracts.

Lanre Gentry said he loved his wife so much and has even deposited over N9million for Mercy Aigbes birthday. He said he worshipped her like a god and will never hurt her one bit.

Contrary to that Mercy has said that that her years of bitterness in the marriage was now threatened by alleged infidelity and battery.

Lanre has also accused Mercy of infidelity which appears to be the sole cause of all these mishap. Mercy has dared him to back up his claim with proof.

Well, the Lagos State Commissioner for Women and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Lola Akande, yesterday has dispelled allegation of infidelity as reasons for battering by husband. She said no husband has any right to maltreat women, no matter the ground. It's unlawful. It's illegal.

The commissioner, who insisted that the state government was taking up the matter to serve as deterrent to others, said Lagos men should refrain from beating their wives. If they do so, they will definitely be prosecuted by the government. She said: "As for Lanre Gentry, it is very bad. We are taking the matter up. It is going to be state against him. And other men, who beat their wives, we will stand against them"(NewTelegraph)
